Washing the bike

Everyday since we have moved to the new place Ellie has wanted to help Matt Matt wash his bike, Sunday they went to the store to get some stuff and soap so they could do it and all day today she has been waiting for Matt to get home from work so they could wash it. She did a great job helping and even got Matt wet a couple times.
After they got done she told me not to touch the bike because its clean. Silly girl! She thinks she is the protector of the bike and if I even get too close to it walking by she tells me to be careful.
At least Matt won't have to worry about the bike when he is not home.

She had lots of fun washing the bike but was not too happy that she didn't get a shammy like Matt's to dry it off with so she was pretty much done when the water got turned off.

Grocery shopping with lil Miss Independent

My little Ellie is so independent! She insists we grocery shop at Smiths because they have the carts that are her size. She does a really good job pushing it around the store, into the back of my ankles and legs AND adding anything to the cart that her little heart desires. Yep there sure is FOUR boxes of Popsicles!
She even knows how to use the self check out.

Name decision

So Matt and I decided on a name for baby, months ago actually and neither of us have changed our minds. I'm loving the name so I decided I would announce it to anyone out there who cares or is interested....
First I'll tell the story behind it... So when I first found out I was pregnant I made a list of names (girls and boys) and gave to Matt, needless to say he crossed off lots of them quickly. He had a boy name chosen and neither of us had fallen in love with a girl name yet, while at work one night I sent him a text and said what about Madeline or Madison? I immediately get back yes Madison like Matt... ok so then it was decided. so Maddy for short after her daddy Matt.
So full name will be Maddyson Pat Slaymaker.
Both my girls have family first and middle names ironically so Maddy gets same, Matts moms name is Pat thus the middle name.
Now I feel that since the name has been decided she can come at any time!

Gardner Village

Elisha had a mama duck, daddy duck and baby ducks at Grandma and Grandpa Bringhurst in the spring and ever since she has loved ducks.

She got right up next to the ducks and was so happy.
.. Once one duck headed to the water she wanted to chase them.

Little Miss watchin the ducks.

silly

Ellie is such a silly little girl. Tonight she came out and wanted my camera, when I asked her why she said "CHEESE" so i turned the camera on and thought i would take pictures of her, she jumped on me and wanted me in the pictures.

I told her to pull a silly face. yep that's a curler in her mouth, no idea why.

attacking me

I love this picture, this is my baby in true form, she is so loving and cuddly.

Doggy I (our kitty)

Elisha loves animals of any kind so much, she is always wanting to touch doggies when she sees them and tries to catch all the neighbor cats so I finally broke down and got her one of her own. I think I talked myself out of it a million times in 24 hours but then I decided that she needs a little friend and that I dont want her to be silly about animals like I am, I want to encourage her individuality and love for different things. When we got to my friends house to pick up the kitty Elisha was so thrilled she did a little dance. the car ride home she held the kitty and talked to it. I asked her what she wanted to name kitty and she says "hmmm I, Doggy I"
she has said her name is E I for awhile now that she is learning to spell her name.
She did not let the kitty out of her sight or grip until they both passed out. The little kitty being a stinker kept sneaking in and cuddling up with Elisha, I kept moving it back to its bed and finally it figured out it was not worth the effort to try anymore and stayed in its bed.
I really worried about how I would handle a cat, I knew Elisha would be great but once I saw her reaction to her very own kitty and how helpful she was with it and how much she already loves the little fur ball I have realized it is worth it. Seeing her smile and hearing her giggle and play makes my day.
I love my little Elisha and her big heart.
